The Driller Newscast: Advocating for Community Thermal Networks
I first met Brock Yordy in Las Vegas — not at a blackjack table, but at a huge national water conference where geothermal people go to connect with drillers.
Brock led a session on the need to build the drilling workforce for geothermal energy and how to recruit young people for these critical jobs. I was inspired and have been lucky to be able to stay in touch with Brock despite how busy he is working at the national level to develop the drilling industry, in part to serve a growing need for geothermal energy.
A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to talk with him about what’s happening with Thermal Energy Networks (TENs) in Vermont.
You can listen in to our conversation here, recorded as part of Episode 117 of The Driller Newscast, on why we’re going beyond geothermal to advance Thermal Energy Networks, why we’re supporting local development of these systems in Vermont, and how they fit into current priority projects in our communities.
